Creating 'carbon snakes' with sugar and baking soda

In the world of science, truth can be weirder than fiction. 

That was put to the test last week at the Children's Museum of Science and Technology in North Greenbush.

Students were experimenting with sugar and baking soda to create something called carbon snakes. Depending on the proportions of each ingredient, the chemical reactions provided different results. 

"You just have to look and then you'll find the mystery, you'll get really excited" said 8-year-old Aarav Gupta. 

Aarav says he likes solving mysteries and wants to be a policeman when he grows up.
