Around 300 fourth graders from four area schools got the chance to play with real scientists and engineers at the company's Global Research Center in Niskayuna.

The purpose here has never changed - to make science and math come alive for children.

Organizers say over the years, GE scientists and engineers have hosted more than 12,000 students from across the Capital Region.

They say they specifically target fourth graders because that's when kids are most curious.

Hear the organizers expand on that thought, by watching the video of the story.
