May 1 is "National College Decision Day."
High school seniors across the country have to pick the college or university they will attend in the fall.
So how does a student choose?
Experts say make a list of what is important to you. Everything from location, majors, and even Division I, II, or III Sports.
Consider where you want to be in five years, and if the cost of the education will lead to an appropriate salary after graduation.
Learn what it means if you are waitlisted.
If you don't get into your dream school, experts say consider community college and then transferring in your sophomore or junior year.
If you do get acceptance letters, use your financial aid package to negotiate with other schools.
