Dr. Anthony Fauci will receive an honorary degree from RPI.

Fauci is the medical adviser to President Joe Biden, and director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health. He has become a household name during the pandemic.

Fauci is one of four leaders the school says will be honored at this year's commencement. The other three are Sir Paul Nurse, John L. Anderson, and the Honorable Ash Carter.

Only graduates will be allowed to attend in-person.

The school has not said yet if Fauci and the other people being honored will appear in-person or virtually.

This year's commencement is scheduled for Saturday, May 22, 2021.

You can read more about the speakers here.
