The Bookmobile travels around the Electric City all summer, making sure students have access to books even though they're not in the classroom.

"The idea that we make summer reading fun, that we make reading engaging for kids and exciting and we make it cool, I think that that's everything that this is all about. It makes my heart happy to see kids smiling and cheering about books and getting them really excited about the reading that they're doing and getting ready for a new school year," explained Kerri Messler with the Schenectady City School District.

The bookmobile made 15 stops this summer and students checked out more than 1,600 books.
