The union representing 37,000 employees at SUNY campuses across New York is out with guidelines to reopen SUNY campuses.

SUNY campuses have been closed since March 19, with classes continuing remotely.

United University Professions says they support reopening the campuses in the fall, but only with strict measures in place to protect students, staff, and visitors.

The core issues include mandatory and recurring coronavirus testing for everyone and enacting methods for contact tracing and isolation.

UUP is also calling for stringent social distancing requirements and a directive for students and employees to wear face coverings. They also want more availability of PPE.

Colleges are not yet out with plans for the fall semester.
