PERTH - A man who worked as a Fulton County animal control officer is charged in an incident from last January.
The sheriff says Joseph Passino was called to investigate two loose dogs on County Highway 107 and State Highway 30 in Perth.
Passino says he was following the dogs, when one became aggressive. Investigators say he then shot it.
The dog suffered a broken jaw and several broken teeth.
Because it happened near a church and school, Passino is charged with reckless endangerment and illegal discharge of a firearm.
He's out on an appearance ticket.
