Lamont murder: Duffy due in court

One of the two men charged in killing a young woman and burying her in Malta, is scheduled to be in court on Thursday.

James Duffy, 34, was indicted on charges of second degree murder, concealment of a human corpse, and tampering with physical evidence. Duffy pleaded not guilty in the case.     


He managed the Local No. 9 diner in Johnstown.  The other man charged, Georgios Kakavelos, owned it.

Allyzibeth Lamont, 22, went missing after her shift in late October. Her body was found a few days later, buried in Malta.     

Police say she died of blunt force trauma to the head.
