The chief of the Gloversville Police Department is retiring on Friday.

A walking out ceremony is being held to honor Chief Marc Porter for his 20-plus years of service to the community. Porter announced his retirement last month.

The 46-year-old has overseen a number of projects at the city police department, notably the implementation of a body camera program in 2017, which he characterizes as a success.

Captain Anthony Clay will become the next chief.
