COXSACKIE -- A corrections officer at the Greene Correctional Facility is recovering after an inmate allegedly attacked her.

It happened on June 5, but NYSCOPBA is now speaking about it.

The inmate followed the corrections officer to a supply closet and punched her in the face several times. He also slammed her against the wall, the union said.

The inmate also ripped her body camera off and removed her personal alarm radio.

Other inmates heard the attack and helped the corrections officer.

Albany Medical Center treated the corrections officer.

The inmate was transferred to special housing in a maximum-security prison.
