COXSACKIE - It's a parent's worst nightmare on Halloween to find a razor blade inside the candy their child picked up while trick-or-treating. That's what reportedly happened in the village of Coxsackie over the weekend.
Coxsackie Mayor Mark Evans says police were called after a female child bit into a Mounds candy bar and discovered a razor blade.
The mayor says the girl luckily did not bite into it, but the pictures quickly made their way to Facebook.
Now Evans and police confirm they're chasing down leads and following the investigation wherever it takes them.
Evans is reminding parents to always check their child's candy.
