Financial woes could lead to health risks

People facing significant money troubles may face serious health risks.

A new study from South Africa found people with a lot of financial stress had a 13 times higher risk of having a heart attack than the general population. Most of these patients were unemployed and had trouble meeting basic needs.

Depression and severe work stress also increased the risk of cardiac arrest.
