New coronavirus cases reported at Capital Region schools

More Capital Region school districts are reporting new coronavirus cases.

Eight students at Schuylerville Elementary School are quarantining after a student there tested positive. The district says the school remains open at this time.

The North Colonie School District says a person who was in the junior high school building has tested positive.

The person was last in the building on October 9.

The school is working with the Albany County Health Department to conduct contact tracing.


At the Greenville Central School District, two elementary school students and a staff member at Scott  M. Ellis School have tested positive.

The elementary school students will go to all-remote learning until October 30.

Students in Grades 6 through 12 will return to the hybrid model on Wednesday.

Hadley-Luzerne High School was closed Tuesday after someone there tested positive.

No one is saying if it was a student or an employee.

Staff was sanitizing the school Tuesday and at last check the building was expected to reopen Wednesday.
