There were 232 more New Yorkers with coronavirus who died in the Tuesday into Wednesday. That's about the same number of deaths as the past three days.
New hospitalizations and total hospitalizations are down again.
While giving a daily briefing Wednesday – this time on Long Island – Cuomo gave new information on where new hospitalizations are coming from and what were these people doing when they contracted the virus.
He says 86 percent of new hospitalizations are from downstate, and 66 percent of new hospitalizations were people who were working from home.
"That says they're not working, they're not traveling, they're predominantly downstate, predominantly minority, predominantly older, predominantly non-essential employees," said Cuomo. "That's important. We were thinking that maybe we were going to find a higher percentage of essential employees who were getting sick because they were going to work. That these may be nurses, doctors, transit workers. That's not the case – and they were predominantly at home."
The governor says it comes down to personal behavior. He says people need to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
