Study: Crossword and number puzzles can keep your brain sharp

Doing word and number puzzles could help keep your brain sharp. That's according to a new British study of 19,000 adults over 50.

It showed the more often they worked on crossword or Sudoku puzzles, the better they did on attention, reasoning and memory tests. In fact, researchers say puzzlers had short-term memory skills equivalent to eight years younger than their age.

Researchers calculated puzzlers had grammatical reasoning skills that were 10 years younger than their age.
