July 17, 2019 05:43 PM

There’s some good news when it comes to the fight against the drug epidemic. For the first time in decades, the number of people dying from drug overdoses appear to be falling.

That’s according to a new report from the CDC. It shows there were almost 68,000 overdose deaths last year. However, the data is preliminary. So experts warn the numbers may increase. They believe the total will be around 69,000. However, that is still below the 70,000 overdose deaths that were reported in 2017.
