FDA warns of toxic chemicals in some hand sanitizers

Check the label on the hand sanitizer you're using. The FDA is warning that several products may contain a toxic chemical.

The agency says nine products manufactured by Mexico-based Eskbiochem may contain methanol.

The substance can be dangerous when absorbed through the skin or ingested.

If you have any of those products, dispose of them safely and remember, if you're exposed to hand sanitizer containing methanol seek treatment immediately.

The nine products listed are:

Esk Biochem Hand Sanitizer

CleanCare NoGerm Advanced Hand Sanitizer 75% Alcohol

Lavar 70 Gel Hand Sanitizer

The Good Gel Antibacterial Gel Hand Sanitizer
