BALLSTON SPA - Gateway House of Peace in Ballston Spa provides a home away from home for people at end of life. Now, it's also providing help for those providing end-of-life care in their own homes, and you can help.

Inside the home-like building, volunteers from Gateway House of Peace along with Community Hospice insure patients, at end of life, have dignity and are as pain-free as possible.

Two patients at a time can be cared for in this home-like setting.

While patients are still being accepted - concern now turns to families in their own homes providing that end-of-life care.

Some people supporting the caregivers are out of work now, or a family is too worried about getting sick to go shopping for needed items.

That's why Gateway Helping Hands was launched a week ago. Eight families are already being helped.

Learn more about how you can also help, by watching the video of Benita Zahn's story.
