Some key questions many have about coronavirus - what's the difference between coronavirus and the flu - and don't people die from flu?

Dr. Arthur Gran, an infectious disease specialist, says while symptoms are similar between the two infections, they are different viruses.

Based on what we have seen worldwide, coronavirus is more deadly - claiming 25 lives for every 1,000 who become ill, versus 1 for every 1,000 affected by flu.

So Dr. Gran says all the attention coronavirus is getting is warranted.

Dr. Gran says it's important you do your best not to become infected to protect others who are immuno- suppressed and at greater risk of becoming seriously ill.

Hear why he says it's important to understand as much as we can about this virus, by watching the video of Benita Zahn's story.
