Governor Andrew Cuomo says he's taking steps to lower patients' costs associated with testing for the coronavirus.

He made the move amid concerns getting tested for the virus may be unaffordable for many.

The governor says insurers in New York cannot impose cost-sharing like co-pays or deductibles on patients who see a doctor or go to the hospital for testing.

New Yorkers covered by Medicaid won't be expected to pay a copay.
