Outbreaks have been reported in California, Illinois, Texas, Washington State and New York.

According to the state Health Department website, the New York outbreaks are in the lower Hudson Valley and parts of New York City.

The CDC says the cases are linked to people who have traveled internationally and brought the measles back to the United States. They say the vaccine is 97 percent effective.
