New study: many bone loss patients not getting proper treatment

A new study on bone loss finds many people are being under treated for the condition. 

Researchers at the University of Miami found just 1% of osteoporosis patients got adequate calcium and vitamin D supplementation.

Older white woman had the best odds of getting what they need. Minorities had the lowest odds. 

The findings were presented recently at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
