Children prescribed opioids for tonsillitis

Many children having their tonsils removed are being prescribed opioids - despite recommendations against it.

Researchers found 65% of children studied filled at least one opioid prescription.

The scientists believe doctors may have prescribed opioids to reduce the risk of complications.
