Medical expert: Prepare now for coronavirus

The dean of the UAlbany School of Public Health says we haven't officially reached pandemic status, even though the coronavirus outbreak fits the bill - the worldwide spread of a new disease.


Dr. David Holtgrave expects it will be classified a pandemic as more countries announce they have cases.

He fully expects us to see community acquired cases - if not locally, then nearby.

Holtgrave, who's worked at the Centers for Disease Control says right now we have a window of opportunity to make preparations.
