There is new development in the St. Clare's Hospital pension case.

Senator Jim Tedisco sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and Congressman Paul Tonko. He's calling for aid for retirees of St. Clare's Hospital who have lost all or part of their pensions, after the hospital's closure 10 years ago.

NewsChannel 13 has been following the case closely as employees spent the past two and a half years in a battle over either severely reduced or eliminated retirement benefits.

Sen. Tedisco points out the American Rescue Plan passed by Congress provided $86 million to help the Teamsters Union restore its pension fund. However, it provided no money for the St. Clare's pension.
