A new study shows coffee drinkers may be lowering your risk for certain diseases.

The study published in PLOS Medicine, a peer-reviewed weekly medical journal, found that people who drank four to six cups of coffee per day had much a lower rate of stroke and dementia.

The research looked at 350,000 healthy individuals between 50 and 74 and how much coffee they consumed.

For those who drank coffee, or coffee and tea, the risk of dementia and stroke was reduced by 28%, compared to those who did not drink coffee or tea.

The study cannot prove a cause and effect relationship between the two, but it does suggest that there is a correlative link.
