NewsChannel 13 salutes Catherine Weisel-Schumacher of Voorheesville.
She served in Okinawa during World War II, and was honored by President Truman.
She also ran diners in Albany and Voorheesville, was a cafeteria supervisor at Voorheesville Elementary School, and later worked at Guilderland Nursing Home.
She passed away in 1991.
