NewsChannel 13 salutes Frank Dashnaw and Walter Shults of Schenectady.

Frank joined at 16 and Walter joined at 15.

They both served in the Navy during World War II, and survived the Battle of Okinawa.

Frank survived an attack by a kamikaze bomb and Walter earned the Purple Heart after being wounded by shrapnel.

They didn't know each other during the war, but we're told they are inseparable today.
