We Salute You: Lou & Jim Van Heusen

NewsChannel 13 salutes Lou & Jim Van Heusen of Gloversville.

Lou enlisted in the Navy in 1940 and survived in the attack on Pearl Harbor. He later served in Europe at D-Day, and he also provided support at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He passed away in 1965.

Jim enlisted in the US Army Air Corp in 1941, fearing his younger brother had been killed at Pearl Harbor. His service through 1945 includes time in North Africa, Italy, India, Burma, and China.

He later worked as a pipe fitter at GE in Schenectady.

He passed away in 1989.
