NewsChannel 13 salutes William B. Lachanski Sr. of Schenectady.
He served in both the Navy and Coast Guard, and received the Victory Medal.
He later worked as a forklift operator for the Navy Depot in Glenville and then worked for the United States Postal Service.
He passed away in 2000.
