Struggling Berkshire Mall starts reopening after week-long closure

LANESBOROUGH, Mass. - Some stores at the Berkshire Mall are back open again. The mall says on Facebook that more will open on Sunday.

The struggling mall abruptly closed last week, except for Target and Regal Cinemas, which stayed open.

Lanesborough town officials said the owner, Mike Kohan, owed the town nearly $600,000 in back taxes and fees.

Kohan said he had been having problems with the power company.

The once bustling mall is down to just a small handful of stores.
