MALTA - For 10 years, Peter Brooks has been looking forward to opening a farm. His chosen crop is Christmas trees.

The farm is called Boulder Brook. It's located in Malta.

The dream comes with some experience. Brooks worked on a farm as a kid, but was just a hired hand.

He studied agriculture at Cornell, worked for the Audubon Society, and then left the woods to work as a financial advisor, which helped him finally realize that childhood dream -  at the age of 70.

In addition to the Christmas trees, Brooks has worked hard on saving a dilapidated old barn that was on the property.

You'll soon be able to find hot cider, local goods, and a fun place for family photo ops.

Find out why Brooks chose this over a livestock-style farm, by watching the video of Jerry Gretzinger's story.
