Last Kmart in immediate Albany-Schenectady-Troy area to close

ROTTERDAM - The last Kmart in the immediate Albany-Schenectady-Troy area is closing.

CNBC reports the Kmart in Viaport Rotterdam will close by the end of the year.

The store has been at the mall since the 1980s. It’s one of 142 Sears and Kmart stores closing nationwide after the company declared bankruptcy on Monday.

The next closest Kmart stores are in Queensbury and Greenwich. They are not closing at this time.
