Tree Paad on Route 9 right before the Malta town line now has caution tape around the entrance.

A lot of parents with young kids in that area have their birthday parties there. They posted an announcement on their website.

The owners say since a fire a few years ago and a slowdown in business recently, they haven't been able to financially recover.

William Smith, a former employee and West Glens Falls firefighter, was sentenced to eight years in prison for that fire in 2012.

A message on the Tree Paad website says they are considering a reorganization plan with a possible investor, but any plan to reorganize would take 60 to 90 days - and they can't make any promises.

NewsChannel 13 reached out to the owners about future plans, but have not heard back.
