Minimum wage is going up on Tuesday.

The minimum wage for most of the state will increase from $11.10 to $11.80.

It's part of the state's plan to gradually increase minimum wage to $15 an hour. It's already at that level for New York City businesses with more than 11 employees.

Next year, December 31, 2020, upstate minimum wage will increase to $12.50 an hour.
