Deadly Thruway bridge collapse remembered 35 years later

April 5, 2022 marks 35 years since a Thruway bridge collapsed in Montgomery County and left 10 people dead.

The bridge was known as the Schoharie Creek Bridge.

It was April 5, 1987. 10:50 am on a Sunday. Ten people died.

It was later determined that faulty construction and extreme weather played factors in the collapse.

Much has changed since that day.
