WILTON – Fans of "The X-Files" television show will soon have a new spot to visit, and it’s located on Route 50 in Wilton.

Opening this month, The X-Files Preservation Collection is possibly the world’s largest collection of screen-used props, wardrobes and set dressings from "The X-Files."

What began as a desire to own a piece of the show transformed into an opportunity for owners Jim Thornton and Kelly Anthony to celebrate the history of the show.

From wardrobe items to molds, prototypes and even actual props used on set, The X-Files Preservation Collection has thousands of items.

Their retail shop includes both "X-Files" and non-"X-Files" collectibles.

If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they’re up for the challenge of helping to find those items for you.

They’ll be welcoming guests from around the world – and the local area – to their grand opening on Saturday, April 30.
