12-year-old child accused of stabbing 13-year-old child in Schenectady

Schenectady police say a 12-year-old child stabbed a 13-year-old child and took the victim's bicycle.

It happened Monday evening around 5:30 in the area of Becker and James streets.


According to The Daily Gazette, the 13-year-old child was taken to a local hospital for treatment of an injury that a police spokesman described as minor.

Police took the 12-year-old child into custody and recovered the bike.

They won't identify the suspect due to his age.

The case has been turned over to family court.
