Man convicted of brutally killing dog with hammer

A man in Saratoga County has been convicted of aggravated cruelty to animals for killing his dog.

Aaron Brinkley kicked and beat his Boston terrier, named “Riko,” to death with a hammer.

Police say Brinkley told them the dog bit him, so he retaliated.

He now faces a maximum of two years in jail when he’s sentenced.
