A terrible story from earlier this year came full circle on Saturday morning.
Back in January, Penny the dog was found abandoned on the side of the road in Greene County. The pitbull mix was covered in cuts and skin infections.
She was taken to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society where she has made a remarkable recovery. And on Saturday, she found her new forever home.
“She is really a special dog. She's really sweet,” said Columbia-Greene Humane Society president Ron Perez. “Her rehab went quicker than we had first thought. She loves everybody.”
Penny’s old owner, 47-year-old Paul Bull, has been arrested and charged with animal cruelty.
