NewsChannel 13 has learned Bethlehem police were tipped off by a resident who tried to sell jewelry on Craigslist and was given fake bills during the transaction.

Officers set up another sale and say Ruf offered fake bills again.

When police went to arrest him, they say Ruf took off, nearly hitting a Secret Service agent -- and leading police on a chase.

He was arrested a few hours later in Guilderland.
