WILTON - A building home to a local nonprofit is left destroyed after a fire broke Saturday afternoon.

The mixed use building which houses Operation Adopt a Soldier was decimated after the fire. Crews believe it started in an attached apartment and spread rapidly. Everyone home at the time managed to get out safely.

Operation Adopt a Soldier collects donations like toiletries, snacks, and other items to send to those serving overseas.

More than 200 boxes full of donations were destroyed.
