Albany Airport firefighter Josh Woodward stood up on Monday – and even took a couple of steps.

His wife posted the amazing news on the "Woodward Strong" Facebook page on Monday. She says it happened after he called his doctor and she encouraged him to give it a try.

You may recall Josh spent six weeks in the hospital battling sepsis. During that time, he lost a hand – and all 10 toes. His wife says he wanted to believe he could walk again, but started to believe it less and less with each passing day.

He still has big wounds on his feet, but made a miraculous recovery after doctors had only given him a five percent chance of survival.
