The woman had just graduated from Albany Law School. She was staying in town so that she could take the New York State Bar Exam.

Inside her hotel room, someone allegedly placed a hidden camera in her bathroom that recorded her taking a shower. The video was then posted on numerous X-rated websites.

Last September 30, the woman received an email asking her if it was her in the video.

Subsequent emails were sent. The emailer told her "I'm a perv. I don't hurt anyone. I like to watch. No need to worry about me."

Later there were blackmail attempts. The emailer wanted thousands of dollars to remove the video from the internet. The emailer threatened to send a link of the video to the woman's friends, colleagues and former law school classmates.

According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff has sustained severe and permanent psychological injuries, along with severe mental anguish and emotional distress.

The plaintiff is suing the Hilton hotel chain for $100 million.

A spokesperson for the Hilton chain sent NewsChannel 13 an email stating:

"The safety and security of our guests is our highest priority. We will continue to work with the authorities to discover the perpetrator and see that he/she is held accountable."
