An Albany man is facing charges after leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle.

Police spotted a car on Quail Street around 10:50 p.m. Thursday that had been reported stolen. They say 46-year-old Tyrell Slaughter was behind the wheel.

According to police, Slaughter refused to stop when they tried to pull him over. Police say they pursued him through the city. The car eventually stopped in Rensselaer, where police say Slaughter and a passenger tried to get away on foot. Slaughter was caught, but the passenger got away.

Investigators say they found some cocaine in the car.

Slaughter was arraigned Friday morning on various charges, including possession of stolen property and drugs.
