Trio of Albany shootings under investigation

July 16, 2019 07:15 PM

Albany police are continuing to investigate a string of gun violence. Since Monday, there have been three shootings.

The first victim was a 44-year-old man shot on Bradford Street after a domestic incident.

Shortly after, a 27-year-old victim was shot in the torso, and then early Tuesday morning another 27-year-old victim was shot in the area of Judson and Second Street.

All victims were taken to Albany Med and are expected to recover.

Chief Eric Hawkins tells NewsChannel 13 they're calling in extra officers and detectives to help, but says violence is down significantly from last summer. The chief also says they've recently arrested four people on weapons related charges.

Anyone with information on any of these shootings is asked to please call detectives at the Albany Police Department, or to submit an anonymous tip through Capital Region Crime Stoppers.
