A group of adorable kittens will be looking for a home after being rescued overnight in Albany.

Firefighters first found the kittens in the basement of a home near Walter and North First streets. They were investigating a smoke condition and put the kittens in a recycle bin to protect them from the smoke.

Police officers scooped up the kittens form the bin and brought them back to South Station where an officer looked after them. They were brought to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society later in the morning.

The Humane Society says the kittens will not be available to adoption for at least a month.
