Albany Public Library is going fine free.

Starting January 1, the library says they are eliminating fines on books and media. Any outstanding fines will be waived.

The library says it’s part of a growing trend across the country. They say circulation has gone up at other libraries with similar policies.

Details of the policy are being finalized now.
