Defense asks for new trial in deadly Lake George boat crash

Alex West may know by the end of the year whether he will get a new trial. He's the Lake George man convicted of manslaughter in the boat crash death of an 8-year-old girl.

NewsChannel 13's media partners at The Post-Star report West's defense argued for a new trial Friday in Appellate Court. A court ruling is likely to come this fall.

West's attorney, Cheryl Coleman, argued eight different factors and errors she feels led to a wrongful conviction.

West also asked the court to reduce his sentence.
