Rubble of charred Lansingburgh bowling alley being searched for clues

May 09, 2019 06:58 PM

LANSINGBURGH - Investigators were back on the scene Thursday at what used to be a bowling alley in Lansingburgh. They're trying to find out what caused the huge blaze Wednesday morning. However, Troy's fire chief says the cause is undetermined and it probably will remain that way.

The Scaccia family, who owns the alley, went through the rubble Wednesday night. It's remembered as one of the few wood lanes in the Capital Region.

Alpha was described as a "community hang-out", plus home to many leagues and the Lansingburgh High School bowling team. The boys' team won the state championship this year under Coach Roland Blanchet.

Troy Hardware & Locksmith next door was heavily damaged in the fire. Unfortunately, the store owner has no insurance, but things could have been much worse.

Hear from the owner by watching the video of Dan Levy's story.
